Why I love spring

24th March 2014

Spring is my favourite time of the year. I love it.

I love the smell of it, the first warm sun after a long dreary winter. It’s like everything breathes a big sigh of relief.

Nature just suddenly wakes up and explodes. The most vibrant flowers are everywhere, trees blossom and I love the gorgeous, fresh, light-green leaves as they first appear.

I love the certain types of birds that you only get to hear in spring. They remind me of being little, playing with my bike outside my grandparent’s house in a small village in Eastern Germany. My birthday is in the middle of March so it must have something to do with my love of this season.

The days get longer and on a sunny spring day, everyone has a smile on their face.

We love to get out and about and after spending months indoors or being freezing outdoors, it’s nice to open the back door again, let Noodle run around the garden, hang some washing out and just take in the smells and sounds of spring. YAY!

Here are a few pics of various trips out we’ve already done this spring.
